I know this is the old question of all time but I'm having a real tuff time deciding on which pup to keep . I'll list why I like each but can only keep one . One is male one is female I won't say which is which. But in everyone opinion which would you hang onto.

Pup a . Smart good looking great mouth ,does bark alot amd seems to want to bark if that makes since .has drive turn Pup loose it will leave you and mill off and do its own thing but does tend to want to be with other pup sometimes. Clean in kennel doesn't walk in its own mess.and has good personality.

Pup b...... may be little smarter than Pup a I think .good looker, acts like it will be more of a loner type dog .goes when turned out of kennel just like Pup a but does its own thing. But Isnt as mouthy actually hardly ever hear it . Cant hardley get it to bark even when playing .Good personality and same as Pup a clean in kennel and doesnt walk in own mess.

I know this isn't much to go on but that being said I would love to keep both but can't do both justice. I know most will say and I agree it is a toss up but sure a hard toss up on these two. Both pups also mind verry well to be young

If pup b's mouth is comparable to pup a's mouth, i would keep pup b for sure. I like smart, quiet around home, and more of a loner.

Keep the one you like the best and likes you. I like everyone have a limited time to hunt and won’t waste it on a dog that I don’t like to be around.

depending on what kind of technology your packing, id start them both together, i have a garmin 320, and the garmin trash breaker, you can literally see everything they are doing, i started 6 last season, hunting 3 to 4 at a time, this season 5 will run an tree there own coon, one could never get over the gun going off so shes gone, once you get the one you know you want get rid of the other an then single it out, these 5 that i have left will single themselves out. all very independent and have never been cut solo. my thought is the cream will rise to the top, if your going to comp hunt them they have to learn to compete, in your case they will be competing for your praise, an i promise they know.

If it were me and I had to get rid of one pup right away I would keep the “B” pup…but knowing me I would do all I could to keep both pups until I was sure which of the two is best…

I tha k you all for the opinions and great advice. Again I wish I could hunt both the pup a has all the tools I like except it sort of wants to pack up. Acts like it is always looking for thr other pup. The b pup is most of the time wanting to be alone no matter where it has to go to . I wish she would bark some is my only concern . Most pups I have ever had were mouthy some she is verry quiet and I think I let that worry me a little

I would bet dog A is the male. I would keep dog B because my gut is that B is the female. I could be wrong on that but anyway I like females. Normally quicker to start, easier to handle, easier to keep, and less nonsense to train out. But that is just me. Now if I was 20 years younger and going to go on the road and promote a hound, I would find a strong male that could take the pressure. But for pleasure I will keep the females.

You are right the male pup is the pup a and the female is b I am going to let go of the male . The female has shewed more of the traits that I like last couple days. The male will make a good dog I think but I can't stand a babbler

I have the same dilemma, but I am trying to choose between 3 females. One was extremely vocal when she was younger and always would get her set in a situation alone and would just start barking like a maniac for help but has overcome this as of lately and is usually with the pack, one female is kind of middle of the road sometimes alone sometimes playing with others and the last female is always alone very rarely barks but is not shy or anything she does seem to be the last to do things though. She is always the last pup to the feed pan for instance and is usually the last too leave. I feel like the middle of the road female is the safe bet, but I am leaning towards keeping the one that is always alone. Any suggestions?
