Got a Bluetick Puppy issue any suggestions?

I am a walker man always have been. Got me a 4 month old bluetick puppy that pees in his dog box. Never had a walker pup do this so I am perplexed is this a blue tick trait? If so how do I break him from peeing? Had a friend tell me to put dog feed in his box?! Any help much appreciated thanks.

Close the dog house down till there's just barely enough room to lay down.

Good idea thank you. I got a Scott’s above ground kennel and the box is pretty big for a puppy

Bedding type?

Put some on kennel floor. Might have to put a board in so bedding doesn't fall thru. See if he will start peeing on it.

I had 2 pups penned in cattle barn until 6 mo. old. I used straw on the floor was easy clean up with pitch fork twice a day. After moving them to outside pen and dog house. I noticed they would pee and poop on the straw just outside the doghouse. Simple solution I put a little straw in a corner of pen. Makes easy clean up. By the way they are 3 yrs. old now and still using the straw.

It is what they get use to. Just like the Grandkids raised in town. Have to run in to bathroom instead of a corner in the barn. LoL!

I sectioned off his dog box just enough for him to lay in. I will post results in a couple weeks.
