here is a short clip from last nights hunt.. Big slough up in the woods, so they are just starting there. They are really singing out in the pasture ponds and grassy marshes..

Supposed to get a big dip in temps Saturday so they will be going down again.. We will see if the old wives tail of up and down three times before spring is here holds true this year..

Had a pretty good coming full moon hunt with the pup.. Treed a single, a den, a slick and put one in a brush pile up in the woods before we quit..

Ah yes...music to my ears. I'm gonna hold that up to my ear and play it tonight and pretend I'm somewhere far away from here lol. Im hoping another month...temps doin same thing here next week. Thanks for that Larry.

Fingers crossed you all warm up next month.

The Bozo pup is a cross bred pup off if Ranger and a blue tick female. Three living pups out of the litter and all are treeing their own coon. She goes back to some locally good blue ticks Mackie Man’s raised for years.

Yes sir I've hunted with ole pounder years ago. The snow here around the house is about gone out in the open but the swamps are still mostly frozen. Takes a long time to melt ice. Thaws and freezes so often here the last six inches is just solid ice.Most of the bigger timber to hunt in is an hour north of me but as of last week the word was still bring snowshoes.

Larry its finally time I can hear peepers in the swamp this afternoon. Now...give me 60 days I'll be complaining about heat and bugs lol.

Going strong here as well! I got a swampy area about 100 yards from my kennels. I’ve always loved hearing them. When I had coon hounds I’d hunt the Connecticut river bottoms. The setbacks and vernal pools are full of them. Some nights they are so loud it hurts your ears if your in tight to the wet areas! Always loved hearing the hounds work a coon track through these areas and get it up into a flat out run for its life.

DL NH one spring hunt at a club in Maine was the loudest I've ever heard them. Like you say it hurt your ears. We could hardly hear dogs barking let alone determine who's dog it was. Never heard them that loud before or since.

None here at all dunno about other side of the mountain I've been sick with covid haven't had my dogs out for two weeks. Might try it tonight tho. Got enough puffers surely I can make it one tree and back to the truck lol.

If only you lived about 3 hours closer even 2 1/2 hours closer lol … I need someone with a coondog to go with even if they’ll only take me because I’m a dog fetcher hahaha
