Does the "winner" of a cast---

with the highest plus points have to hunt "all" the minutes of the hunt??

Example-- Final cast of the TOC. Dog A has 300+ Dog B 250+ Dog C 200+ and Dog D 350+

10 minutes left in the hunt, and Dog D is flatten on the highway and none of the others are struck as the time expires. Who gets the check?? I would think it's A because it's the highest dog that hunted the full hunt.

Just asking for a friend

That would be decided by the size of the check.

depends

If dog D was struck on track , he would get minus points and would be out of luck, dog A wins. BUT if there was some hot dogs on the road where dog D was flattended , I would disqualify handler A for interference , Dog D wins.

You’re a heartless SOB if dog D doesn’t get that check.

so houndhunter--

you are the owner/handler of Dog A, you would pass on the $50,000.00??

I have read and reread the rules and can not find the clear cut answer, but I'm sure it's there.

And having a heart or heartless doesn't play a roll in turning a hound loose. It can happen anytime anywhere and it has happened to me. Just the luck of the dropping of the tailgate I guess.

Isn't there a rule in UKC that says the cast must hunt the full time to be considered for placement? If the cast "winner" is unable to hunt the full time then the card gets thrown in the trash.

How do you know the dog is "flattened' in the road with just 10 minutes left if your not standing in the road also? You would think the hunters should be in the woods but if not and if that close to the road and no one struck in they would call time out to prevent what happened.

I really don't think we have enough information on what happened.was dog d. struck in, ? Was a tracking device used to know he wasn't moving? We know with 10 minutes left to hunt you can't get him for failing to hunt using the 15 minutes rule. Unless the cast was right there how did they know when he was hit and killed? Like I said there isn't enough info to make a decision at this point in time., JMO
