Repair, or replace light?

Is it better to replace a 6 year of light, or repair it ? How long do LED's, and switches last? After 6 years will i have to replace a part each year there after?

Repair or Replace

I guess it depends on what is wrong with it, is it a Caplight or Beltlight & what Brand of Light is it. Is the Light Company still in Business.......a Bunch have went out of Business.
You want the answer....But you need to give more info to help determine your best route to go.

I have had a sunspot that is far older than that still a lifetime guarantee. Still awesome service. Still an awesome light.

The company is still building lights, and the light only needs a cord from the battery to the head piece right now. Just wondered if after 6 years of use should i put money into shipping, parts, and maybe labor fixing it once in a while? There must be some kind of life expectancy.

If it's a 6 yr old battery in it then it's got to be getting close to replacement for it.....if a regular Beltlight replacing batteries will be around $125-$150......plus Shipping both ways & Cord Replacement.....you will have $200+ in it when all said & done. Put another $100 and just get you a Brand New Light.
That's my opinion
Tim

He asked which option and I gave him both.
He mentioned about buying a New Light so I would assume he can afford it......LOL.
If I get that close to either having a Rebuilt one or a New one.....I know which direction I am going....😉

It took me exactly one long walk out by the light of a cigarette lighter to decide that I’d never wait for a light to die before replacing it again.
Some guys have more rifles than there are days in deer season and nobody thinks twice about it. When you consider the fact that a reliable light keeps you safe, it seems like a no brainer.
I say buy the new toy. You only live once.

Thanks for the feed back. I decided to buy a new light this summer. I'll use the old light with the patched up cord until something else goes wrong with it, then toss it.

Good luck with getting any resemblance of prompt warranty service from them. Waited 6 weeks to get mine back from them. It really wasn’t fixed. Shortly after it became obvious it was the switch and I sent it back. Been about 6 weeks again and still no light.

wow I'm surprised. Maybe something has changed cause I didn't have that problem. The only thing I ever sent mine back for was a new battery after I had it for years and all I had to pay was shipping. It was done promptly and I was and so far am still just tickled with it's durability and everything.

I bought a Brand New Viper, it had the worst Walklight I had ever seen...and I knew there was something wrong with it. I sent it back and it took about 3 weeks to get it back....But seems to be fixed...Hopefully. It is a Nice Light & the Head size is Great, not alot of extra Junk on it.

My boss Hotspot belt light stopped the other day. Sent it in replaced battery and new charger. Turn around less than ten days. Less than 70$ total from b&k's hunting supplies.
