Hearing device in UKC

I have a letter from UKC that allows me to use a hearing device to be able to better hear my dog barking. I have worked around loud noises and cannot hear my dogs once they get very deep. My question is is anyone else using devices and what seems to be the best device to use. Thanks Chad

I have a cochlear implant and hearing aid. I would recommend a behind the ear bte hearing aid, durable, louder and more powerful and a in the ear ite hearing aid.

hearing

i use a behind the ear hearing aid in my worst ear. if I wear one in both ears. I can't tell what direction the dog is in. I put reflective tape on the hearing aid because thick brush will knock them out of your ear. They also enable me to hear the other cast members say things like "Is he ever going to tree that dog" or "I wish that old goat would hang it up".

I'm all ready with you on the loss of hearing, but look on the bright side, when your dog trees and you think he's a long ways off and turns out to be much closer to you, think of all the walking you've saved yourself!!

I also have the implant and a Resound behind the ear.. can hear a decent amount... the sounds are not like my natural was but better than they were! forget about telling direction.. it is gone. cannot pinpoint where the sound comes from -- welcome to the DogTra/ Garmin world!

I have no way of telling direction neither they could be 10 yards away and I couldn’t point to them if 1 million dollars was on the line. I go March 18 to see about doing the other implant they say having 2 implants helps directionality considerably.
