Joy

I don't feed it but Several Buddies have used the 24/20 & they are telling me their dogs have too much crap to clean up & runny/loose. All were feeding Victor and switched back to it.

If they are crapping to much or loose stool, it could be due to over feeding. I switched to the Joy 30/20 supermeal and have had good results but had to cut back the amount of feed I was giving each dog. I believe it is like 500+ kcals per cup. It’s a good product.

Most of the time that is the case....But not this time. These are Veteran Houndsmen...they know how to feed a dog.
The 30/20 is probably a better feed than the 24/20.
Thanks
Tim

Deal with Purina ?
Yep sure do....the Deal is when I need Feed, I go to the store & Buy 2 Bags, I then Pay for it and feed my dogs with it....that's the Deal...😉

I have always had good results with Purina Products....to me there is nothing better.

X2, I used to feed Joy and liked it, got hard to find in my area and I switched back to Purina feed. Nothing wrong with Joy, but I have always had good results from Purina. Dave

Fed Joy for long time 10+ years ago then couldn’t find it local no more.

Was able to start getting it couple months ago. Was feeding DogChow or Pride. Hounds look and do better on it. Coats have a great shine. They have plenty of energy. Also not much cleanup. Great feed in my opinion.

I would love to have it down here but in my state we ain’t got it. I’ve read into it alot and would change to it if it were available. I feed Purina for now until I get Joy, that’s the plan. Joy has never had a recall in its 70 something year of making food, now I like that. Also I’d like to roll down to my Co-Op and buy my food from there, support my locals. I know I hear Ol Josh likes to rep his Joy at them kind of place’s. So Josh you got your ears on give me call. Me another hunter we’re hunting the other night and we were on the food subject and told him about their history and having no recalls, he popped to attention on that but I told him we can’t find it here in our region. Hopefully Ol Josh can come down and save us in these swampy River bottoms.

I tried a couple of bags of Joy back in the summer after finally throwing in the towel on Purina after a couple of years of being very happy with it..

The Joy was an acceptable feed I thought, but definitely more clean up than Purina or Victor,. I switched back to the Victor Hi Pro Plus 30/20 and intend to stay there unless they Pull a Purina Bone Head move and change up the formula..

Should that happen and Joy continues to maintain or improve that will be my next choice. I have several friends and acquaintances feeding Joy and are very happy with it.. Their dogs look fine and the cost is considerably less than the other two mentioned.. I think the corn base in the Joy keeps the cost down a good bit and provides significant nutritional value.. The fat coating sprayed on the Joy makes it very palatable, so hounds readily eat it..

What does Joy have that compares to Purina One?

Our 26-18 Professional formula would be a comparable feed. Also out west you are more likely to find Hi-Standard than Joy, but with most formulas it is the same feed made in the same plant. So if you can find Hi Standard give it a try and I think you will really like it.
