Dave,
I just ran a two year old through a hay meadow- over deer after deer, most of which were in sight, and he never turned his head. I hunted this pup alone all last season as a one year old and treed better than a hundred coon. He has a big mouth, a great handle, and looks to spare. If these are the dogs that competition has ruined, sign me up for a few more. These are the good old days.
Amen, I know exactly what you are saying. I do not even remember the last time a dog ran off game. We take that for granted these days, but I remember the trash runners of yesterday, tree a coon , then run trash the rest of the night. I do not want to go back to those days ever again. Young hunters today do not know how good they have it with today's hounds. The breeding has just about eliminated the trash running in today's hounds. Glad to hear your young dog is doing so good. Keep me in mind if you decide to sell him. Dave
