Winter time is coming fast!

I have a great idea for fun this winter.

Take you GARMIN handheld. Don't matter what model it is. Sit down by the fireplace. Push the buttons and learn how to operate it. Start at the beginning and go completely through the menu. Learn the functions and what pages they are on.

If you just pushing buttons and not putting it in the microwave. There is nothing you can do to it to mess it up. Don't be afraid and don't hold back.

The serious side of this is the following. A lot of money is spent on these products. The main objective is to recover your hound and keep them safe. If you don't learn how to use the product. Your not doing your dog justice. I get calls everyday from people that want two or three collars and a system. The want me to set it up for them with the dogs names and all collars connected. I am not being fair to you if I do that. If you don't know the basics of the system and get to the woods and loose a dog off your screen and don't know how to get it back. What kind of favor did I do for you. Setting it up. You need to learn your system. Your dogs safety depends on you knowing what happen. Most of the time the people comes from the owner not knowing how to operate the system. Learn it. There is a long winter coming and next spring I want everyone better at using their garmin.
Not to belittle anyone. 13 years ago I had a young man purchase an astro 220 from me. He received it and told me it did not work. I forgot to ask one basic question. We talked a little and it still wouldn't work. So I just sent him another one in the mail right away. He sent his back and when I got it. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. The question I forgot to ask him was. If he know how to turn it on. Which was the problem. I still communicate with him from time to time. I am willing to help anyone. But your dog deserves the fact and safety that you at least put for an effort to learn the system. To bring your dog, HOME SAFE. There is about any answer to your question on YOUTUBE. I made a few of those videos myself until I figured out I was too ugly to be on film. Now I just type answers and talk on the phone, not to scare anyone.
