Garmin alpha problem

My hunting buddy's alpha 100 shows the garmin screen that comes on when it is first turned on. Its locked up. Can't turn it off or change the screen. He took the battery out and put it back in the screen is still on.
Pushing the power button doesn't do anything

.

I would try a couple things. First I would let him try your battery and see if it changes anything. Second I would look around the edge of the screen and see if some sand or dirt has wedged itself between the screen and outer edge of the casing. Or perhaps he has one of the thicker screen protector installed and it is pushing on the screen at some point around the edge. I would also try a house charger and see if it will come on.

One thing I would highly recommend if you get it to come ON and I also recommend any ALPHA user to check this out. Is in Track Manager. Delete all you archived tracks. This past week I have had two ALPHAs with some strange operational concerns. Both were full of archived tracks going back to 2016. These things just cant function if you allow the memory to get full of nonsense.
