!!!---Gunner Transport Kennels--Who uses them ?---!!!

Just wondering how these Compare to some of the " Tradional" Dog Boxes that we have used for years.
I dont need a Storage on my Box....So thats not an issue.
Also.....if you use a Gunner, what Size do you have ?
It looks like the Intermediate Size will Work but the Large might be a better choice ?
Thanks
Tim

The intermediate size will work for the average coonhound. As far as a crate, they are arguably the best built and safest one made. Ruffland is another brand that is very nice and made similar.

Gunner Kennels

Thanks for the replies guys......hoping to hear more from guys that happen to have Owned the Gunner or even the Impact Kennels.
I have one of the Oversized Shipping Crates that I have used for 6 years during the warmer months and it has worked great......so I figured a Gunner would be much more durable and built alot tougher, but my Shipping Crate hasnt let me down at all and exceeded my expectations.
I have gotten to where I Hate the Tradional Boxes......to me they are built cheap with Spot Welds that Break and others put together with oversized staple. Plus they are heavy.
I did see some guys with Gunner Kennels in the back of there trucks at Walker Days and B&T Days but never got to talk with anyone about them or look them over really close.
Really Considering one of the Intermediate Kennels.
Thanks and keep the thoughts coming.
Tim

Had one and parted with it rather quick. It is just a heavier built crate.

Kennels

I have seen them used by a pheasant hunter he had 2 of them and they are far superior to the flimsy shipping crates probably as stout or more than many dog boxes if you have an enclosed vehicle or camper top the cheap crates would be fine I still prefer dog box because less movement in truck bed and can use cheaper crates in SUV or camper top

No doubt they are heavier then the air crate we all know of, but they certainly are not heavier then our traditional dog boxes. Like stated by others, they work well in suv and sxs vehicles. If that type of “kennel” is what your looking for, I feel none better are made. A few others compare and may actually work better for some individuals , but gunner kennels are top self in this line of transport kennels.

Gunner's Up makes a quality product and they are super nice folks as does Ruff Land. Some of those nice heavier plastic boxes are factory direct anymore as the shipping is terrible on any of them and it is hard to work in a margin for dealers where anyone can make any money. They tend to be more popular in the upland and retriever market. I believe Primo's has one made for them now which is a nice product also.

I have used all of them from time to time as I have several good friends who own all of these heavier duty plastic boxes.

They are all nice boxes and it just depends on what you are looking for.

The box I use is one we make with top storage, two doors and two air struts so they are just about as expensive to make as a large box. We sell a few of these at $699.99 and they are very nice.

Thats a Nice Box Mark.
Why 2 doors though ?
Looking around for a Nice Box and its looking like I probably will end up with a Tradional Box.
If I dont find a Nice used one, then will look at New ones.
I figured Autumn Oaks might be the Place to find one.
Thanks

Well, I've had a bunch of boxes and hauled dogs in many different vehicles, rental cars etc over the last forty plus years. If you put this in the back of your wife's car, my old Geo Tracker or a side by side with some gear in the back, you can position the box north/south or east/west. (Many smaller vehicles are not big enough to use the box other than east/west positioning so you have to unpack the car or slide the box out to let the dog out.) I bought several smaller boxes and a year or two later ended up putting in another door so this was an option. A box like this should last ones lifetime with a little care and you will go through many vehicles and situations in life where this is really handy. Yes it costs more, but like Grandpa always said, "When you buy the best you only cry once."

The top storage is an added expense to this box but you can also use it inside the house and store dog food and dishes, etc in it as well.

GT's will have several of our boxes at Autumn Oaks and I am sure there will be other quality, well made boxes from other vendors and suppliers as well.
