References to direction and distances is where the dogs were in relation to the cast at the time the report was made.
o -Cast has arrived at their location. Judges are giving them final instructions.
o -43 degrees. Foggy. Bright moon shining through. Light wind.
o -2:25am start time. Dogs are lined up on the edge of the field, and they are cut.
o -Willow struck 100. Butch 75. Rock 50. Before the first minute of the hunt!
o -Strike Trip for 25, just right after the minute. Dogs are directly in front of the cast 200 yards, on a red-hot track. THE HUNT IS ON.
o -The dogs are pushing the track forward across the rolling terrain. They're moving it away from the cast and a quickly putting some distance between them and the cast. The cast is trying to tighten up to them.
o -The judge tonight is Jason Cooper of Indiana, assisted by Tyler Pettit of Indiana and Luke Starke of Ohio.
o -“Rock treed 125”!
o -Tree Willow right behind him! 75.
o -They are 700 yards southeast from the cast.
o -Tree butch for 50!
o -And Trip for 25. Cast is headed in to them.
o -Our in-field reporter tonight is UKC’s Trevor Wade, assisted by Cody Carter. Cody has the tracking codes for each dog entered in his handheld to bring us accurate distances tonight.
o -Cast is still walking. Trevor says he thinks they might have taken a wrong turn and ended up in the East Tennessee Valley country, where was home to him before moving to Michigan (reference to the hills in the area they are hunting in tonight).
o -Beautiful rolling hardwoods, 200 yards from the dogs now.
o -Cast has arrived. Dogs are handled. They are on a BIG red oak tree on the side of a steep holler.
o -Lights are in the trees.
o -Got ‘em! Everyone sees the coon. Plus ‘em up!
o -Approx 30 minutes used.
o -Walked the dogs away for a short distance and all are recast simultaneously. 1-minute clock is working.
o -1-minute is up. Not a peep from any hound yet.
o -Trip struck for 100!
o -Trip is 670 yards to the north
o -Cast is tightening up towards Trip.
o -Trip has hushed and the 8-minute clock is running.
o -Willow is .75 to the west. Trip is .72 to the North. Butch is 630 yards to the west.
o -Trevor doesn’t have a reading on Rock right now.
o -Cast is tightening up again.
o -Butch struck for 75, 880 yards west of the cast.
o -Willow struck for 50. She's .8 miles to the northwest.
o -Rock struck for 25, northwest a good distance. Cast is splitting the distance between them.
o -Rock treed for 125!
o -Rock is 900 yards from them.
o -Kevin Morehouse trees Willow for 25 with Rock (declared him treed more than two minutes after Rock has been called).
- (Allen) While we’re waiting, the MOH panel is at the trucks in this final cast. Our officials this weekend are Doug Cundiff from IN, Tim Gilcrist from Iowa, and Curtis Sparks from NC.
o -60 minutes in the books now in this final cast.
o -Walking down the edge of a cornfield. At this point, Trip is 1.15 to the northeast. Butch is .8 to the Southeast from where they are right now.
o -The cast is scattered. After the party on that first tree tonight, it seems they have all decided to go their separate ways.
o -The moon is getting brighter with a few stars now hanging overhead.
o -(Allen) Jason Cooper himself must verify all coon seen in this cast. He makes the official call on all things.
o -Cast has arrived at Rock and Willow’s tree with 52 mins left in the hunt.
o -Judge Cooper has started the 8-minute shine time clock.
o -At this point, Trip is 1.15 northeast and Butch is 1.08 southeast. Both dogs are out of hearing currently.
o -8 minutes of shining time is nearing the end.
o -OUCH! Rock and Willow are on a slick tree. Minus strike and tree points.
o -Willow and Rock have both been recast.
o -Rock swings around behind the cast. -Strikes back in for next available (50).
o -Trevor says Rock sounds like he’s back on the same tree they just scored…
o -Rock is not called treed yet.
o -(Allen) Previously scored tree cannot be scored again. Points are deleted in that case, no penalty.
o -Update: Trip was declared treed just before Willow & Rock were recast. Trip had been declared treed for 125, 1.15 northeast.
o -Trevor says looks like we’re gonna need to cinch up our hiking boots.
o -Trevor says we have a longgg walk. Walking down a county road towards Trip.
o -Willow has not been struck.
o -Trevor can hear Rock still.
Sounds like he’s still back where they came from. Butch is out of hearing, for the moment at least.
o -40 mins left in the hunt.
o -They can now clearly hear Trip while walking, Trevor confirms.
- (Allen) Thank you to these judges this weekend: Their experience and knowledge plays a huge role at the TOC finals.

o -(Allen) The Deer Creek Coonhunters Association provided ALL the guides! Thank you!
o -Cast has just passed by the trucks on their way to Trip. Still .7 from Trip.
o -Only other dog that can be heard is Rock. Skyler Mick still hasn’t said a word on it yet.
o -We've got 30 mins left in the UKC Tournament of Champions!!!!
o -Still headed to Trip.
o -The cast is now off the road. On some narrow goat path headed towards Trip still. 250 yards to go.
o -(Allen) A lot riding on this tree...could be HUGE.
o -17 minutes left...
o -Butch is 1.4 miles. Willow is .9
No distance on Rock to report.
o -Rock is declared treed! 125. He's about a mile away.
o -Judge Cooper stops and instructs Assistant Tyler Pettit to go with handler Skyler Mick to handle Rock. Pettit has a friendly but explicit couple words response for Cooper before turning around (Allen…they just walked nearly a mile in the same general area where they had scored Rock and Willow previously. Remember, assumptions suggest Rock may have returned to that same tree).
o -Tension is thick, Trevor says. A lot riding on Trip’s tree. 100 yards left to walk, up and over one last ridge.
o -(Allen) Handler’s starting to strategize payouts maybe...?
o -They have arrived at Trip’s tree.
o -10 mins remaining in cast...
o -(Allen) SUSPENSE....
o -Still shining Trip’s tree, nothing yet.
o -Hunt time is quickly ticking away, only 5 minutes remains.
o -Lights and squallers haven’t worked yet to find the coon...
o -Oooooh....minus Trip’s tree.
o -Now walking towards Rock with 3.5 mins left.
o -Jason Cooper has announced that hunt time has expired.
o -Still need to score Rock.
o -850 yards to go to get to Rock.

o -200 yards out.
o -The judge and the cast has arrived at the tree.
o -Shine time has started.
o -Birds are already up and chirping this morning...
o -(Allen) This is THE LAST tree in the TOC.
o -HUGE tree, Trevor is seeing a few obvious holes in it, squalling now.
o -(Allen) Mick might need new reeds in his squaller after this.
o -(Allen) Total of 8 minutes to shine… Mick will likely use every second of it.
o -Whew! The Charly Creek Gang must be living right. Talk about an intense walk and 8 minutes of shine time. The tree has been scored...It is a circle tree.
o -BAD BUTCH WINS THE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
