English Dog

Something has possessed me to stray from my walker dogs and try out an English dog. The only problem is, I know very little about bloodlines and which one has more of what I’m looking for. Wanting to get a pup, just don’t know where to start.

My biggest pet peeve is a lazy dog. I have to have one that is going to go hunting. Hard and fast.

Mouth doesn’t matter much to me.

Prefer a silent dog, but an open trailing hound is ok. I just don’t want any of that babbling junk like you are starting to see in some of the walker lines.

Can’t stand a loose tree dog. I want toes dug in not moving type hound.

I can break them off of junk. I can make them independent. I can live with a lesser mouth. Silent mouth is preferred but I can live with open trailing. The only thing I can’t put in them is the desire to hunt, and the one thing I absolutely HATE messing with is one that is weak on the tree or wants to leave. If you get hooked, stay put. Right or wrong.

As you can tell, I’m a bit picky. But I know what I want and I know it isn’t all that common, but somewhere there’s some dogs that are showing one or more of the desired traits I’m looking for. I just need guidance, and this is a good place to start. I’m willing to wait a while if needed. No hurry, but I am looking. My old walker hound still has a couple good years left in him.

I have always been. Die hard walker man. I hunted with a Dino pup one night tht got me to looking then I got acquainted with Randal powel he treated me better than most breeders would ever and the pup I got off of his jack dog was the best pup I have ever owned good looks which that doesn't tree but sure helps more brains than most of the walker pup I have had lately and more go power not just running through country but actual go get gone and find. A coon I would if I were going to get another 100 percent gonwith Randal and river bottom cracker jack I actually sold this pup back to a friend of randal and they changed his name to flop you can get ahold of him and talk but that being said there is good and bad in all but randl has something special with the jack dog

English Dog

There are three pups by Timber Rattlin Swag that we have close by from my PKC SCH Spook female that are as you described. Swag is Briar Creek Bred.

All three have ton of drive.

Two are silent, run with head up, fast on track, deadly accurate, and good at layups. Just outstanding young dogs.

One is a little bit cold nosed and does open some, can sometimes take a little longer to get one treed, and not quite as accurate.

All three are a bit trashy. The one that's the most trashy is also shown the most talent. It's been a little tough to break him off trash, but making progress. When he's on coons, he usually trees more than the other dogs, both younger and older.

The two silent dogs are naturally independent. The other one does his own thing, but will back another dog.

All three dogs are stay put tree dogs with big mouths. One stays pretty much in one place with toe nails in the tree. Other's move around tree some, but not too bad.

Imagine Bartlett Kimbrough, owner of Swag, knows a few people with upcoming litters.

I just bred the mother of the Swag pups that we have to Clint Harps Backhollar Trigger. So, hopefully, she's pregnant and will have pups by third week of June. It is a Wolfe Creek Rollen Rock 4X3 cross. Rollen Rock is a combination of Briar Creek and Michigan Swamp Rooster.

Trigger opens on track, but there is a good chance that some of the pups are going to be silent too, or open very little on track. Spook is mostly silent. Trigger is by Puss n' boots, by Wild Time Timber Tiger. He is GRNITECH and PKC CH in limited hunts.

Five of the pups are already spoken for as friends that have seen the Swag/Spook pups that I have requested them after finding out that I bred her. I live just South of Hot Springs, Arkansas. So, if you don't find what your looking for, I should have a couple ready to go, with good SS date, by mid to late August. From reports that I've received, the whole litter turned out from Spook's last litter with Swag.

Take a look at Terry Goforths Snag dog. Will bust a hole in the dark and get treed with a coon deep and lonely! His litter is showing what they can do. Lightfoot breed hound that looks like and sounds like one should!
