Dog sounds hoarse??

I have an 8 month old pup he was barking in the lot so I put a shock collar on him. I only shocked him 1 time and after that he sounds hoarse when he barks. Has anyone had this happen? And if so should his bark get back to the way it was?

I check his collar it isn't tight an I don't have the shock collar on him now. He can bark but he just sounds hoarse an seems to strain when he barks.

That 1 shock did no damage. It is apparent you put the collar on for a reason. I boarded mine for a week, they could not bark when got them back. Rest and I used human throat spray twice a day. Took 2 weeks but they got better, but 1 of them if you let him tree an hr he will still get hoarse.
