North Carolina State Hunt/Show has new date May 1st and 2nd
Due to scheduling conflicts with other major UKC events, the North Carolina state hunt/show has been permanently moved to the first weekend in May. This year's event will take place on May 1st and 2nd at the Rowan County Fairgrounds in Salisbury, NC. The events on Friday, May 1st will consist of a bench show that has a 6 PM deadline with a $20 entry, and a nite hunt with a 7 PM deadline with a $35 entry fee, this is a 90 minute hunt. On Saturday, May 2nd, at 12 noon, we will be having our annual association meeting. Each club is asked to nominate two representatives to represent your club at the meeting so they can vote on any issue that is brought up at the meeting. All clubs are also reminded that it is time to renew your club dues, the dues are $50 and this covers everyone in your club. We also need a membership list. The deadline for the bench show on Saturday is 2 PM with a $20 entry fee and the deadline for the hunt is 7 PM with a $35 entry fee, this is a 60 minute hunt. On Saturday night, there will be a hunt off between the two high scoring dogs from Friday night and the two high scoring dogs from Saturday night to determine the overall state nite hunt champion. The winner of this cast will receive a light, a nice prize package and $1000. The overall state show champion will receive several nice awards plus $200. The opposite sex winner will receive $100. Nice prizes will awarded to everyone who places in the hunt and show. You must be a member of a club that has joined NCCHA or buy an individual membership to compete for overall in the hunt or show. Individual membership will be available for $20. We will also be having our basket raffle again this year, as well as the raffle for the Golden Boy rifle. Everyone seems to enjoy these raffles and the money goes to support our youth hunt. A lot of work goes into making this an enjoyable event for everyone, this is YOUR state championship and the officers of the association encourage you to come out and support this hunt/show. Thanks in advance and I hope to see you there.
