Male out of Finley River Sting up for stud

I have given this some thought over last couple weeks. I am going to offer this dog to public for stud. He is out of Chris Waller and Steve Brookshire Finley River Sting and a nite champion female Brad Obert had called Bear Creek Queen. George Harris owns her now and has raised a couple litters out of Queen and his Ransom dog. Queen is out of Curt Ahrings Coldsweat and Brad Obert Grand nite pepper dog. She was out of Babes Stylish Banjo and a double River Bend Flag female. Queen has produced good hounds out of both dogs she was bred to. Sting was an outstanding reproducer. My male came from a cross that all made good hounds. He is 8 1/2 years old. I about lost him two months ago. That has motivated me to try and get a couple litters out of him before he is gone. Boys I have had better hounds than this, better treedogs than this, better strike and track dogs than this. But I have never owned one I enjoyed more than this. He is bawl mouth on ground. Gives a couple good bawl locates and settles into a 90-100 bark a minute treedog. He is extremely accurate. He hunts out 500-600 yards. I have heard him treed 1 1/4 miles from me. Come for a hunt or give me a call John 217-242-4120. I will tell you good or bad about him. I have nothing to hide. He is not nor will ever be for sale. I have had chances.

I have received several calls on this ad. We appreciate the response. Most call asking questions about him. His name is Blewett’s Whiteoak Mater. My kids named him. Some of the guys call just to visit and that is fine to. I am not short on the gift of gab and enjoy the conversations. Mater came out of the first cross ever made on Sting. From what I hear quite possibly the best cross on him. I personally have hunted with five of them. They are the right kind. The Sting dog was an outstanding hound. He could tree any kind of coon. Cold track, hot track, layup, etc. it did not matter. He hunted hard and when he treed you could cock your gun. Queen was a powerful treedog in any mans catagory. She is one of the top three hardest treedogs I personally have ever heard. She had an outstandingly loud mouth and hunted hard. I never hunted with her mother but have had four people tell me she was a top dog and they did not own her. Mater comes from top dogs on both sides and top reproducers. Mater is not titled. Never will be. That’s not his fault it’s mine. When he needed campaigned I was busy with my kids activities. They are only young once and have not and will not miss that stuff for a dog. But to be quite honest I don’t need a title to judge what kind he is. He suits me and that is what matters.
