Score this

Dog A-D are all struck in. A and B are treed, tree closes and arrive at tree. Dogs A B C are treeing, dog D is 20 yards from tree showing no interest in treeing. Tree is slick. How should dog D points be handled?

Judge scored it as C and D should split tree points and be minused strike and tree.

Under rule 5b since no coon was seen shouldn't Dog D points be circled since no coon was seen? Dog C would get third tree with minus strike and tree.

If dog D is not treeing when judge gets to tree it can not receive minus tree. A and B would get minus strike and tree. C would get minus strike and minus next available tree. If D comes into tree after casts gets there it would have its strike circled.

Thank you for saving us from another three pages of wrong answers. And thank you to Lance for getting it right the first time.

What if D was at the tree but not treeing? lets say he was standing there with his feet on the tree but not barking.

Was he treed or not treed? Everyone has their own criteria. It would be judge's decision and then cast vote if someone disagreed.

Correct but in most cases he would be minus. If I'm judging and the dog is declared treed with other dogs and when I get there he is not barking but standing on the tree. He is getting scored on the tree. So I would say if he is doing the same on a slick but not treed in he is getting it too.
