Garmin Birdseye Download Speed

Has anybody else noticed Birdseye download speed getting slower and slower?

Right now it is looking like one ~231MB tile is going to take ~45min to download for me. It seems like my first tiles were ~5min.

My internet connection is not the problem. Does Garmin slow down the download speed for devices that have had more downloads registered to them? I would tend to think that Garmin isn't uploading much data at 4AM on New Years day so it shouldn't be the upload connection from their servers.

.

I have always found the download speed to be proportional to the amount of structure in the area I am downloading.

Anytime I include an area with a lot of houses or include part of a two town or populated city. It seems like it takes forever.

That is interesting. Must be a compression thing. In my case though the tile was just a large tract of state land.
