hound dry heaving?

I have a 2 yr old redbone coonhound that started dry heaving all wierd today. He has been sleeping almost all day and he finally ate, but right after he ate he starts heaving real bad. After that he just layed down and didnt do it again. Anyone know whats going on here?

Oh also I forgot to add that he got sprayed by a skunk earlier this week.
