Grnitch PKC Ch Hillbilly Bildo

The night before the My Of an hunt his left rear leg swelled up. I had purchased 1 night for him to hunt in that hunt. I had him taken to the vet. The first vet said she thought it was a skin infection, prescribed 200mg of doxy twice daily for 2 weeks. The swelling went down, but never really went away. And after the doxy was done for a week the swelling came back worse. Took him to different vet. The 2nd vet thought it was a hematoma from a bug bite or a foreign object. Prescribed 1400 mg of doxy, and ran about every blood test possible. But said it would take a week for them to have all the results back. Well the swelling went down for the next couple weeks. And ordered no hunting. Blood tests didn't reveal the real problem. Well Monday we took him back to the vet. Because the swelling came back and it was spreading up into his chest cavity. Vet called me with his diagnosis of cancer and he was 100% positive that he had a tumor that ruptured and that was the reason for the swelling. Because the swelling wasn't inflamed tissue but he was bleeding internally. I made the decision to have Big Bill put down. This decision was one hard decision to make. He was a neck of a dog. He showed a bunch of people what a coon dog was. I know I'm going to miss him for a long time. He could tree any type of coon in the woods. I can still hear him bark around dusk wanting to go tree some coons. And I won't forget his triple bawl locate, bawl chop on tree. You could call him off a tree, walk him out of the woods with no lead, get close to the truck and say load up. And yes jump in the box ready for the next drop.

Well......Bye for now Bildo. Hope you tree coons up there too.

Thanks guys. He was definitely a good one. Ben Crocker did a great job training him. Only thing I wish I did more of was hunt him more. But not sure that would've been possible. The last cast he was in was at the breeders showcase. A 9 yr old girl hunted him. And she loved hunting him. She won her cast and was smiles from ear to ear for her picture in the prohound.
