2018 Heartland Classic Bench Show Juudges Announced
2018 Heartland Classic Bench Show Judge: Friday
A native of Cedarville, Illinois and current resident of Madison, Wisconsin, Grant Noeske began coonhunting with his dad, Joe Noeske, in the early 1980’s. The first hound he handled was a grandson of DUAL GRCH ‘PR’ Table Rock Flying Hawk named GRCH ‘PR’ Noeske’s Red Oak Champ. Champ helped Grant meet hunters from all over the Heartland Classic area while attending events at clubs such as Darlington, WI, Hebron, WI, Coleta, IL, West Union, IA and Anamosa, IA. He attended his first Treeing Walker Days was when it was held in Cedar Rapids, IA back in 1987 where he handled Champ to a 2nd place finish in the Kid’s Show. Grant entered his first Autumn Oaks bench show and UKC World Show later that year handling a Leo Nester bred female named CH ‘PR’ Noeske’s Red Oak Abby. In subsequent years he was able to handle dogs such as NITECH GRCH ‘PR’ Noeske’s Red Oak Boss to an overall bench show win at the first Red Classic in Iola, WI. and a son of Boss, GRCH ‘PR’ Noeske’s Red Oak Rush, to the overall Red, White & Blue Classic Bench Show Champion title in 1994.
Grant was able to make it into the Finals of the UKC World Hunt with Dual GRCH ‘PR’ Hicks’ Rock River Drifter three years in a row (2000-2002), placing 14th in 2001. He was also lucky enough to handle GRNITECH ‘PR’ Pec River Kate, owned by Jerry Bowers of Adeline, IL, to an 8th place finish at the UKC World Hunt in 2008.
As a bench show judge, he has judged at Treeing Walker Days, the Heartland Classic, the Red, White & Blue Classic, Wisconsin State Winter Show, Wisconsin State Show, Wisconsin State Youth Show, several Treeing Walker Sectionals and numerous other local events. He has made countless friends at shows and hunts throughout the Heartland Classic area and very looks forward to judging the show on Friday afternoon.

2018 Heartland Classic Bench Show Judge: Saturday
My name is Natalie Adkins. I am an Occupational Therapy Assistant. I live in Astoria IL with my husband Marc Adkins and my 2 children Bel and Hunter. I have been an owner/breeder/handler of TW coonhounds since 1990 and over the years have been very successful at local, state and national level shows. When I started Showing in 1990 I had 3 goals set for myself, but I was also 13 years old so who would have thought that my goals would have come true. I dreamed big and worked really hard.
1) Win National Grand and the UKC world in the same year (2003-Honest Abe-1st hound in history to get both titles in the same year)
2) Own a dual purpose hound (owned 2- Indian Outlaw and Honest Abe)
3) Judge Autumn Oaks National Grand (2015)
As a judge I want the front/rear angle assembly to match and beautiful motion on the ground. I look for the good quality in each and every hound I judge. I am a hands on judge, so I can feel how the structure of the hound flows from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail. I take pride in judging hounds. I am so honored to be the judge at this year’s Heartland Classic. I can’t wait to get my hands on some good hounds at this show. Good luck to everyone.
