If you trespassed on property to score a tree that's cheating, walking the hunt out even if you got 5 min left that's cheating, if not trying to score the tree and shine it to your best potential even if that means your going to loose if the coon is found that's cheating, not speaking up when you know someone is in the wrong that's cheating, the list can go on and on.

Anyone who has ever unsnapped a dog lead in a competition hunt that wants to win has bent or broke the rules. I don’t believe sainthood in competition coonhunting. Some will say they never have. I can’t prove otherwise but I call BS on anyone who says they haven’t

I have always wanted to win no matter what sport I played but I have NEVER cheated in a hunt or on the field! I have ONLY won 1 hunt so that might tell you I’m being honest lol! Seriously though I have hunted in a few and NEVER have cheated and some that I have been in I have been cheated but it was a lesson learned for me! When I lay my head down to go to sleep I can sleep easy knowing I didn’t cheat to get a win cause that’s NOT what it’s about AT ALL!! I have always wanted the BEST DOG to win not the slickest handler even if it ain’t mine!!!!

Someone needs to start a new poll......"Have you ever lied about cheating?"

Have you ever cheated is kinda vague. You might get more responses and a better sampling if poll was.....
1. Have you ever added a coon to a scorecard?
2. Have you ever plussed a tree that you didn't see a coon in?
3. Have you ever plussed/circled a possum?
4. Have you ever scratched a dog/handler just to get them out of the cast because they were winning.
5. Have you ever had your buddy pull a dog off a tree?
6. Have you ever voted to circle an "obviously" slick tree?

Ralph Williams

Didn"t you say you trained walker dogs with an english? And you've only won one hunt? Think the pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together. And I saw where you think everyone should use their real name. Are you sure Ralph Williams is your real name? I have a neighbor named Ralph Williams. Starting to suspect you are the notorious Bubba Martin. And I don't think I'll sign my real name.

If you ask this question to people who tried competition hunting and quit, NO would probably win.

Ntch. ? lol
I know of a Grnitech former World Qual. that can't tree its own coon or even go hunting alone.Unless going 100 yards, coming back and standing around is going hunting?

Might be, if the crowd is coon hunters in general. No one with a dog lead in their hand is spotless as snow. Just my opinion. And it’s one I will stick too because I been around a long time and have hunted with many. I have drew many straight up guys and I try to be one, but in my younger days I was no saint and those straight up guys where the ones that taught me tricks.

Well, I can easily believe that.
To me it's kinda sad.
UKC should be ashamed but dont seem to care one way or the other.
Money game.....nuff said.

Ukc should not be the one ashamed, it should be the ones hunting that kind of junk. Titles should compliment a coondog, but are no more of an indicator of quality than a title to a used automobile. You should test drive before you buy! A real coonhunter judges their dog/s in the wintertime pleasure hunting where a title means nothing if the dog can not produce. A title on a real coondog is just icing on the cake. Dave

Opinions

Dave..
I understand what you are attempting to say, but it doesnt change the fact that there are rules that govern thoz titles etc and those rules are written and overseen by ukc.
Thus in my opinion which dont mean much, somebody has to enforce the stuff and make that so called title be something that is telling the public what the hound actually is capable of etc.
Accountability is the word I suppose .if the participants are allowed to continuously cheat and get away w it its all for not....
If the title dont mean anything or isnt consistent across the board then whats the point ?
Furthermore I dont buy dogs based on titles, id just as soon judge the owner as the dog.....I think you will learn more in the long run....

Jmo....
