Bluetick World Champion?

OK GUYS THE BLACK&TANS DID IT LAST NIGHT AND IM PROUD OF THEM. BUT WHEN ARE WE GOING TO TOP THE WORLD HUNT? WE GOT SOME GREAT DOGS MAKING NAMES FOR THEMSELVES RIGHT NOW, SO WE ALL GOTTA DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO BETTER THE BREED. NOT CHANGE IT BUT BETTER IT. SEVERAL OF OUR GOOD BLUEDOGS MADE IT ALONG WAY THIS YEAR AND HAD A LEGIT SHOT. IM SURE OUR TIME IS COMING SOON AND I FOR ONE CANT WAIT. WE GOTTA STOP BEING KENNEL BLIND TO A POINT AND START BREEDING TO BETTER OURSELVES NOT JUST SOLELY TO PROMOTE OLE SO N SO. GOOD TRACK DOGS TO GOOD TREE DOGS. BRAINS, HEART AND DRIVE IN A GOOD FEMALE TO A MALE WITH THE SAME TRAITS. AND WHEN THESE CROSSES ARE MADE, PEOPLE THAT ARE REALLY GOOD AT BRINGING YOUNG HOUNDS ALONG NEED TO GET THERE HANDS ON THEM AND LET THE CREAM OF THE CROP RISE TO THE TOP. JUST MY BIASED OPINION OF COURSE BUT IM READY TO SEE A BLUETICK COONHOUND WITH THE TITLE WORLD CHAMPION. NOT JUST OF THE BREED BUT OF THE WORLD. WHAT YALL THINK???

Two words.... BIG COUNTRY! He hunts like a walker and has done a ton of winning! That dog has as good of a shot as any bluetick, being that he hunts the UKC world.

I think there too much kennel blindness in the bluetick breed to make this happen. And the other thing is, because blueticks as a breed don't have the extra gear. And when someone gets one with it they say it's running junk or it's never going to settle down and make the pleasure dog they thought they were buying. The breed as a whole is bred for pleasure hunting more than anything else. I'm a bluetick guy inside but own walkers because to get a bluetick that can compete is rare. Unless a big group of breeders get together and agree that the breed is lacking in areas it'll be a while before the title is reached.
Imo it's not the lack of drive, it the lack of heart that's missing. Not many blue's have the tank to hunt the same in a late round as the early round. And the speed they hunt is a factor.

I know Big country was mentioned. He's the right kind. But is he a freak in the litter? Is he a freak in the breed?

I know where one is that won the grand American last year! Haven’t seen much incentive to hunt ukc world. I personally don’t think this years world was handled the best. IMO

I don't believe the bluetick breed has the drive to win hunts....yes there's some but not like other breeds....breeding to win hunts don't mean breeding to make ticked up walkers....I don't like a babbler but I want a FAST honest strike dog.....i want a dog that can fly in a track not a dog I can listen to on same track all night long.....I want a 1 bark tree dog that hits trees like a freight train and has a coon....not a dog that I can listen to there pretty bawl for 5 minutes checking themselves before they tree.."if" they tree!

It don't matter if you have a litter of pups out of winners AND on the reproducers list with many dogs in there ped on the reproducers list.....unless your part of a clique or have somebody's favorite dog in the ped many times...

The dogs that tell me the most are the ones owned by no named people or people that operate with out needing help...

Blueticks seem to be like there owners....they cover everybody most the time....gotta pack together and are extremly jealous....

I understand how line breeding works but what bluetick out there was that much of a winner that anybody won't there traits locked in 2,3,4 or 5 times??

I think there's some dogs out there that have reproduced well...also believe many coulda produced better if the owners woulda looked outside the box a little more....

There's definantly several winning males out there right now...females also but I believe the females should be pushed in more hunts...seems everybody finishes em to grand and says there to valuable to hunt or ntch and tell everybody they got nothing to prove to you...that's great glad your proud but just cause they've proved something to you don't mean they've proved anything to me....

I don't breed for pedigree, looks or anything at all other than style! I want a certain style of dog and that's the only reason I breed dogs....

To many people just breeding for $ or because a dog has your old world beater in its ped 5 generations back...

Just my opinions and that don't mean everybody or my opinions are the only one that matters....I'm open minded and allways looking for excuses to move forward and not much for making em to go back words or sit at idle for 20 years!

I believe he's pretty close to what needs to happen, and pretty honest about what he's seen out of the breed.

How much incentive does one need to hunt a blue dog in the world hunt? 10k? 20k? 30k? Oh the paycheck is still bigger than the numbers listed.

I didn’t say there wasn’t incentive out there to hunt any world hunt I just said ukc world. We were gonna try to put her in a couple different world hunts this year but a bout with tick disease slowed us down some. I agree the blue dogs do need another gear somewhat. She made a good showing at $kc walker says this year. She hasn’t been to as many as we would like to go to though novacain. My point wasn’t that she was a world beater. Far from it. Just that some blue dogs can hit a good lick in some tough company.

Dave Dean has done as much winning with hammer line as anyone else in any other breed, not only do you have hunt em you have to promote em and be good at both

I like my chances with anything that goes back Sadie's way!! I have allways used outcrosses, if they were right we bred to them but I like breeding to winners that win right and whats been getting the closest lately? Sadie, Bo, Botox, Spur,Gomba, Dizzie and I believe Big Country is the right kind also.

There's actually more incentive fr the UKC world hunt than almost any other hunt. The breed associations have a stiff bounty for a blue dog that can win it. Not sure exactly what the number is up to anymore.

I want to win them all. I'd take the 30,000 from $kc, the 45,000 from the other big money org. And just as happily take the win slip for World Nt Ch. from UKC. Just missing some critical components. Time, Money, and a winner. Other than that I'm down.
