This is new one for me

Anybody ever have a dog that like to pee in his dog house? This may sound strange or even funny but it’s getting pretty aggravating! Lol. I kept noticing that his straw in his house was wet. Didn’t pay a lot of attention to it at first then I noticed it stunk, bad. Cleaned it out and put new straw in. Same results a few days later. Then one day I watched him back his hind legs out of the dog house, hike his leg and pee. Of course the pee was going straight in the house. So I went and bought a new insulated dog house with a smaller door and an over hanging roof think it would be harder for him to do that. No such luck. He’s going through straw quicker than I can get it and with temps as cold as they are I don’t want him laying in pee soaked straw. Any suggestions on how to get the idiot to stop doing this?

Peeing in box

X2 on the 8-10” blocks, or you can get some mine belting and screw it over the door opening. Like flaps. Or maybe give him something else to pee on, like a large rock in his Kennel. Is he going in his food bowl too? If not then maybe feeding him in there will help.

Thanks for the replies guys. He don't pee in his food bowl so I'll try putting it in his dog house. I had already considered putting his house up on blocks to keep the bottom of it up off of the kennel floor so it wouldn't start to rust as quick, it's an insulated metal panel dog house. He's already on a thyroid pill twice a day, he's due to go back and have his level checked in a couple weeks. Pretty sure the low thyroid is a result of Lyme disease. He's had two cycles of doxy for that and is now testing negative for it. Hopefully that's gone for good.
