Law Protection of our hounds

We are looking at trying to expand the law in iowa to protect our hounds. If anyone has a link to your state law that could help. Would you post the link so we could get it to our state Rep. to see if if can get some better laws passed.

It is a criminal offence to injure or kill a dog in the state of Minnesota.
Google, Minnesota Status Section 609.595.
This statute deals with personal property which hunting dogs fall under. UP to $10,000 fine 5 years in jail

Under Minnesota law a person is not trespassing when they enter another's property for the sole propose of property etc. There is more but you can find it under the statutes I posted. It works well for us.

See Minnesota Statues
section 97B.001 subdivision 6
Subd. 6.Retrieving hunting dogs. A person on foot may, without permission of the owner, occupant, or lessee, enter private land without a firearm to retrieve a hunting dog. After retrieving the dog, the person must immediately leave the premises.

The use of vehicles to retrieve dogs, falcons, hawks, or owls on prohibited lands shall be allowed only with the permission of the landowner or his agent. no amount of laws will protect your hound . to many idiots in the world today . what laws can do is make the idiots pay for their actions with jail time and fines .in ark the only thing we have is found in laws for cruelty to animals . its the prosecuting attorneys sheriff and courts failures to enforce the laws we already have that are the problem .the local news paper and t.v. stations going public to get your story out can be your best chance for a conviction .
