Whos throwing top females

It has been said time and time again that the female side of this breed is lacking in the go power and mouth departments. So who is throwing top females. I want opinions not arguments. Ill throw what I think out there now. Richard seems to always have a nice hard going female as does Shane. They seem to concentrate on that nice female to be bred to the right stud to get a nice litter of pups. So what does everyone else think whos producing hard going big mouthed females.

Gr.Nt.Ch. PKC Ch. Outlaw Cherry Bomb and Gr.Nt.Ch. PKC Gold Ch. Layton's Classy Cali are two of the best females I've hunted with in the last year. They both have plenty of go power, independence, and good mouths. They are what I'd call top females. As far as the ability to reproduce top females, Gr.Nt.Ch. PKC Ch. Moonlight Outlaw Breeana is doing well the last three years. She produced 3 Gr.Nt.Ch. females so far including Cherry Bomb, Breeze, and Trip. Trip won opposite sex last week at National Redbone Days and is a top competition dog.

Jerry, I never hunted with Jake or Lexus. I've hunted with 5 or 6 out of the Rat x Raven cross and all were nice dogs. My female has a little more straight line style than those dogs I think. They'd hunt around and then get deep if they didn't have anything. She runs straight away until she hits one. She is the loudest female I've ever hunted with and louder than a lot of males. I'm guessing the hunt style and volume was influenced by Jake but that's just a guess. All I know is I really like her.

3 generations off females

Here are 3 generations of hard going females here at Nacalu Redbone Kennels.. Nt Ch Mandolin off Doc and Fiddle, GrNtCh Mandy II, off Banjo III and Mandolin and Coon Bustin Mandy off Gr Nt The Coon Buster and Mandy II. We are still working on the third generation now. Have also a young gyp off of Pr Red Jon Jr a direct son of GrNtCh PKC Silver Ch Jon Henry and GrNt Ch PKC Ch Guitar Ghost's Mississippi She is off Jon Jr and Mandy II putting the best two dogs that have come out of this kennel together. A son of Jon Henry bred to a sister of Jon Henry. Jon Jr has a first place win in his one and only hunt. As far as females go I would like to see Gr Nt Ch Sawblade Fiddle nominated for the Hall of Fame awards. There are a bunch of dogs besides mine that carry her in their pedigree up close. The Old Mandolin dog would have made Gr Nt Ch if coon hunting was more important then my family. The video posted took years of training and patience to put together. I bought Mandolin as pup from Kelly Hyde after hunting with Doc at Southern Redbone Days. Harry said he had Fiddle with him and he had just bred her. All the dogs in the video were raised and trained by me.

fiddle needs to be hall of fame from what I've heard and seen.. When I see fiddle or fiddle II.. I take that as a given as being the best breeding one could ask for.. But what do I know, I'm just the black sheep of the red dog family lol

I got to agree with this Bree is reproducing top females on every thing she has been bred too and she is fourth gen of top females that reproduced great females not only in comp but in the breeding pen as well and I believe one of her daughters or two will continue the line

I am a little biased but I think that Gr Nt Long Tall Sally produced some nice females. But then she was out of Little Zack who was out of Ol Zack. Gr Nt Chick is one of them and was just bred to Jet. There should be some nice females to come out of that cross. Eric, I think the key (and I learned it from Mr Marshall) is to look for a nice female who is out of a nice female who is out of a nice female. You stack your odds when you do that. Breeding a winner to a winner will occasionally get you a winner. But breeding a winner who is out of winners to a winner who is out of winners will greatly increase your odds. You also have to look at crosses that "worked". That is where the lists come in. (And I learned that from Mr Hyde) Just looking at the Sire and Dam is not always enough. There is a whole lot of research, time and effort that should go into breeding for nice pups. And you can't do it just on the interweb. You have to get in your truck and go out and hunt with a bunch of these dogs. Talk to a bunch of people that have hunted with them. Look at what everyone else is doing and see if you can put parts of what the successful ones are doing together to come up with a plan. And you can't do it by yourself. You will have to have help. Cultivate some buddies. Try to buy/get a really nice female and start from there and work your way up. If you do it right you should get better and better dogs. But you won't just start right out with one unless you have a bunch of money. It may take 10-20 years to get there.

11 titled pups, 9 females and only 2 males? That sounds a little strange. Is it just by chance or coincidence or is that a pattern? Or have the females just been concentrated on more? Or has she just had a lot more females? Have you ever sat down and tried to figure out why she has a lot more titled females?

Most of her pups were born female and several of her male pups got killed on the road at a young age..along with a couple nice female pups

I think that it is strange that some males and females seem to have most or better offspring of one sex or the other. I know that Wendy only raises 1 or 2 females from each litter. I think that is strange but I have never seen an explanation why. Her last litter of 14, only 6 were females and 4 of them were either stillborn or died in the first 24 hrs. I know that Crazy has done some research and found that some crosses produce better males while others produce better females. Surely this is more than just coincidence. I wonder if any geneticists have an opinion on this? Or if Mr Marshall has noticed this phenomenon?

While Bree has had more females per litter...Billy Jean has been the opposite having 3 to 1 ratios of males to females. Cherry Bomb and Breeze have been about evenly spread but their pups are just now getting old enough to be doing a little winning.
Most of the people who contact me for pups always want females also...so maybe more guys are putting more time into females these days.

I know that Crazy has done some research and found that some crosses produce better males while others produce better females. Surely this is more than just coincidence. I wonder if any geneticists have an opinion on this? Or if Mr Marshall has noticed this phenomenon?

Look at Bree sire Bo he is Kate's only son to make #1 current reproducer and he did it with all females one male titling might be genetic

Breanna's mother Deana has 3 Grand Nites and 3 Nite Champions.... I know all 3 Grand Nites are females and at least one of the nite champions....could run in the family
