Toledo Ohio your coons are being killed

I'm a golf course superintendent and am part of a superintendent forum on FB. Couldn't help but notice this guy in Toledo Ohio complaining about skunks and coons tearing his fairways all to pieces digging after grubs.

Most GCs don't have this problem cause they usually treat preventively for grubs. However, this GC obviously didn't.

Anyway, this guy claims to have killed 31 coons so far, and is still shooting/trapping them. (Posted 1 day ago)

None of my business but if I found out someone had killed that many coons in my neck of the woods, especially out of season, id be meeting the superintendent asap and try to find a solution. Or at least maybe the GC would let me run dogs to help out.

Again nothing to me, I live in NC. But I cant stand the thought of a coon getting killed unless a dog is under it. I'm not gonna expose a name here, but would be glad to PM name of golf course if you Ohio guys wanted to look into it.

There are thousands of varmits poisoned and killed every 24 hours in Mo. around gardens, barns, feed bins, ect. ect. Turning dogs out and treeing a coon usually doesn't happen close to any golf greens Ive ever seen.

It does here lol. But I agree most places that won't happen. This is my 4th golf club I've worked at where I could hunt, but I worked there and knew where and where not to go on the GC.

It's a shame some of these places wouldn't at least let us Trap.

I knew some boys hired to set all night shooting armidilos on a golf course. They were using long rifle shells which probably got the neighbors calling the city cops, HA!

Being a game hog is for deer hunters. Turning someone in for trapping coons that are doing damage is ridiculous.

If he's killed 31 they were heavily overpopulated. Most golf courses around me are near a populated area with several roads and wouldn't be safe to hunt..
