Here is what I know about the finalists:
Ike and Chalk eyes are litter mate brothers out of Piazon and my old Sky female who is off Running Rattler. I raised these 2 before Piazon had placed in the world hunt and was unable to sell them as puppies, so I sent them to a large fenced enclosure where they started themselves basically. I also had/have Barker from that litter, who was the best I thought because he was such an intense tree dog at such a young age (but he never improved while the others excelled). I also had\have Abbie from that litter who is a GR Nt and PKC CH and my favorite dog in the world. I retired her after she had some kind of heat stroke twice and like her mother she is now a house dog at night. Anyway, after lightly starting Chalk eyes and Ike Mike Silcox and Jerry Carter took an interest in them at about the same time and bought them as 1 year olds. They went on to accomplish incredible things with them and I couldn't be prouder. I still hunt with Mike and Ike on a semi regular basis and know he is the real deal!
Goomba is off Piazon and Mark V's Dizzie female. She needs no introduction and is a well known female among most serious Blueticker's. I took a female from that litter, but sent her to a trainer, who got her killed the first night he had her. Goo was purchased by Marl Ranucci, who sent him to Michigan to get started. I guess he wasn't doing anything fast enough for anybody and Mark called me and said find him a home or he was being culled. I bought him and brought him here as a 10 month old. I took him out in short order and released 4 box trap coon in front of him and he treed all 4! I just never understood what others didn't see in him. I then sent him to Ken Herman for the first few weeks of Michigan kill season and Ken said of the 30 something nights he hunted him there was only 1 night that he didn't show him at least 1 coon. I then got Goo back and hunted him on and off as work would allow and just love the dog. He has the greatest fun loving personality! I put a first on Goo last OCT at the fall challenge hunt, but then got busy with work and he sat in the pen a lot, when James Harrell took an interest in him and started hunting him for me. We agreed he was a bit above average and decided to only hunt him in larger hunts and James finished him to NT CH with a second at English Days and being overall winner of a RQE. He has since put a NT CH win on him at a slam hunt and another now by getting in the finals.
Botox: Well I'd like to think he is a house hold name among serious Blueticker's by now. You have to hand it to those Schulte boys, they get their dogs in the winners circle of major events on a regular basis and you don't hear them blowing any hot air-they let their dogs do the talking. My hats off to them!
Schotzi: is a litte rmate to Jet 10, off Jet 9 and Joleen, who is a Boomer X Ruby female. She was owned and titled by Jeff Timms before Ron bought her. I drew her at the RQE she qualified in and saw she can get in there alone and get hooked with a coon in short order!
Emma: I don't know her breeding, but have known Steve Wilson for several years. I'm sure she is a product of his breeding program that he has been very successful with. I think Emma was high scoring Bluetick of the winter classic a couple years back and heard from some first hand that she can put on a coon treeing clinic!
I was happy to see Jimmy Don Presley and Wes Martin back at it after being kind of quiet the last couple years. I assume their female is an Echo bred female from generations of Blue's they have campaigned. Someone asked me if I thought the Texas guys would actually make the drive and I said Um yea, you don't know those guys, they are very serious world hunt chasers and have a very impressive string of High scoring Bluetick male's and females in the world hunt. These are another 2 no BS guys that let their dog do the talking and I'm looking forward to chatting with them again.
The rest=I don't know much about and I too would like to hear about, so keep everyone keeps this thread going and hope we can put a Blue on top this year!
