Have any of you guys given a dog benadryl for allergies?

1. Did it work?

2. How much were you giving them?

3. I have heard it can cause drowsiness. Is there an alternative that I can give that wont make the dog tired?

I Have given a dog benadry for snake bites and it 4 sure works one pill TWO Times A DAY 2 DAYS IN A ROW 40 lb plus dogs

I keep one around when I give a dog a 9-1 or Lyme vaccine for the first time. Had 1 dog have a reaction to the Leptos and 1 dog have a reaction to the Lyme shot. Within 15 minutes, dog was fine.

We just had a dog to the vet, she said to give it 1 mg of benadryl for each lb the dog weighed every 8 hrs. My sister's vet told her to give her pitbull benadryl before she brought it to the office to make it calmer. It had got into a porcupine.

Tried it for sinus/allergys but found Claritin seemed to work better. Does work great for snake bites however. It keeps inflammation and swelling down. But I gave 4 pills initially and then 1 every 4 hrs for 24 hrs. Couldn't tell that it "enhanced performance" however. But then I haven't had one that I thought needed calming down.
