Yogi
With the new year for the breeding season approaching, I want to present to the English breed a stud that has a lot to offer the breed. Take a look at his pedigree. It is loaded with superstars and reads like a "Whose Who" of the breed packed with several ancestors on the Current or Historical UKC Reproducer's List now or in the past.
Yogi has a big bawl mouth on track and is an open trailer. He is not tight mouth on the ground, but opens according to the quality of the track. He locates with a long dying bawl followed by a chop, then he throws another long dying bawl locate changing over to a steady 120 bark a minute clear chop on tree. He is a very impressive tree dog that plants his front feet on the side of the tree. He does not move around or "run" a tree and he doesn't chew. The best part about his treeing ability is he is good about having the coon. I do not have the patience to shine a bunch of empty trees and Yogi doesn't make a habit of missing very many coon.
He hunts hard, but will hunt the timber. He isn't the type that runs a mile trying to get away from other dogs before he decides to start hunting. Most of the time Yogi will strike a coon within a half mile of where you turn him loose and will hunt in the direction you cast him. I really enjoy pleasure hunting Yogi and hunt my young dogs with him quite often.
He is a nice looking redtick hound weighing sixty-three pounds. He has good feet, a blocky square head with good ear set and tight confirmation. Yogi has a UKC Grand Show Champion degree to go with his UKC Grand Nite degree. He is the highest titled dog out of Grand Nite Champion Moore's Hardtime All Grand Horn and the only PKC Champion to date sired by Horn.
He has had three litters of pups to date with good reports out of all three litters. Recently, there has been two females bred to Yogi with one litter due in mid-October and a second litter due the fourth of November.
If your looking for a quality stud to breed that special female, consider giving Yogi a serious look for your next litter. For 2015, Yogi will be a UKC Performance Sire and a PKC Super Stakes Sire too. All of Yogi's pups will be eligible to hunt in all the great events that both registries have to offer. Whether your hunting for a truck ticket or wish to rack up the performance money hunting your pup in UKC events, rest assured that a Yogi pup will be eligible to compete in all the prime events of both registries.
Yogi has never been retired or considered too valuable to hunt. You are more than welcome to bring your boots and hunt with Yogi anytime. We have nothing to hide and enjoy showing him to the public.
In closing, I would like to thank all the breeders, promoters and fanciers responsible for Yogi and his ancestry. It took many nights in the woods training and finishing them in the hunts to make Yogi's bloodline a reality. For that I am grateful and appreciative to all that put in the time to promote their hounds.
