Interesting nite hunt?

All dogs are treed, trees scored and minused. Walk dogs from the tree and recut. One dogs go off and runs track and trees. Five is up and you walk into the tree to realize it's the previously scored tree. You look up and immediately find a coon. Do you plus it or delete it since it was a previously scored tree. I say delete since the rules just say you can't score a previously scored tree.

Tough break but it make sense why the rule is written like that. Could be an advantage in the hunt if you got a dog that will go back to the same tree and no one finds the coon the first time (which is what I believed happened in this situation).

I was on a cast one night years ago, and all dogs were struck, treed and plussed on a small persimmon tree in the middle of a cattle pasture. No leaves, tree was about as big around as a man's calf. Single coon was plainly seen. We pulled the dogs, sent them across the field toward the woods, and they struck within a hundred yards. Came screaming back and treed the same tree we'd just left, but this time there were two coons in it! We deleted it even though it was obvious what had happened.

My dogs have beat the coon to the tree before, but not like that. Lol
