sure proud of minner tonight.

been some good hunting this way and been pushing sky hard and taking spayed dog along for ride here and there. been making minner sit out most hunts but night or two a week and wow was she pissed tonight wanting to show me that she aint ready for old folks home quite yet. tonight minn and sky hunted together all 3 drops and tracks run they were very close together until treed. old girl didnt get blowed out of water speed wise and i sure enjoyed it. more rest the last couple weeks probably didnt hurt.

closest strike was pushing 3/4 mile and longest pushing 2 miles but once hit tracks they were screamers that went aways. first dump was deep and out of hearing with wind and i got around to **** hiway and got ears on them and treed single hundred yds off hiway i didnt intend to get near. next dump got bark indicator at under a mile and should of heard dogs in terrain was hunting but wind fighting me again so went around to next back road and idling along watching garmin dogs flew across in headlights full cry. was cool as hell to watch and wish had a cop car camera going. treed couple hundred yds further in on big den tree that tree on several times a year. another single that gave eyes a second than buried his head in tree crotch. obviously treed him a few times. had to make run through cows that are calving so dumped there and dogs got treed on other corner of section in tree against old falling down barn. when had stopped to listen that track sounded awesome but nothing in tree and having left several gates open and cattle wanting to get out to green grass i didnt crawl up in barn to look. other times have treed there coon was in rafters. technically slick!

i watch garmin more than should especially hunting dang wind so often and use it to move closer especially when hunting off wheelers. it amazes me how some nights the bark indicator works great when a dog is tracking and other times it doesnt. collars are on the same every night and dogs throw mouth close to the same depending on track. got setting on lowest bpm. neat tool when works right. sure hope the old girl can run this hard a few more nights until heat of summer hits.

big den coon tried to hide.

tree on old barn.
