Opinion.

Most of use reading this forum are redbone man / woman, an we all know that there's a very few that hunt redbones! In your opinion why is that?
There's more walkers that win hunts!
Are we just hard headed to change breeds?

hmmm

Ford/ Chevy
Mayo / Miracle Whip
Catsup / Mustard
Who knows, but I'm glad we are all different and can choose what we want to hunt.

People that just want to win comp hunts hunt walker dogs because it is a lot easier to find a walker dog to win a hunt with. You have to love Redbones as a breed or love a challenge to try to win comp hunts with one.
Or if you just like to hunt for the fun of it or "pleasure" hunt then Redbones would be your breed of choice.
So in the past I guess that you would have to be pretty hardheaded or stubborn to hunt a Redbone in comp hunts. But there are more Redbones winning now so you see a lot of "walker people" trying to buy a Redbone to comp hunt. But they only want one that they can win with. They don't really care about the breed.
Of course that is just my opinion and I was wrong once.

JFK said "Americans chose to go to the moon, not because it was easy...but because it was hard"
How many times in history has the worst NFL team....through hard work, great talent picking, and management style been able to work their way back up through the ranks to or near the top?
Redbones were at the top years and years ago...but fell from grace over the last 40 or so years. What greater feat in the hound world could their be than to someday see the most popular and biggest winning hound breed be Redbones again?
Persistant, loyal, and dedicated people can possibly make that happen...while others who get star struck by what's popular and stylish will opt for the easy way out and choose a breed where the work has already been done for them because they haven't had the success they desire in the redbone breed...
Lots of my redbone pups go to competition hunters from other breeds who hunt big winners....but they are tired of being just another face in the crowd....they want to be different...they want to win with a redbone...because thats not always easy in their circles...it's hard!
