Garmin: Buying in store vs. dealer

Looking to buy an Alpha within the next 2-3 weeks. Cabelas and Field & Stream both have them in store which is super convenient, no shipping cost or waiting (Coupons and other deals as well). But I am guessing the customer service and other things? isn't as good as buying one from a smaller hound supplier. Just wanted some opinions from people who have bought from either in store and ordered from a supplier.

It's good too support the business that support the sport. Buy from one of the vendors the prices will probally be real close.

Looks like from the youth titles you have that would be a no brainer, who sponsored all those youth hunts ,awards and prizes, not Cabelas or field and strem

My experience is it doesn't matter who you buy from if there's a problem they are going to tell you update and calibrate and if that doesn't work to contact garmin
After you register your garmin ,collars, drivetrack etc garmin will give you a code for 10% off accessories
You can get $50 off anything on amazon ,i got the drivetrack 70 for $250
Whoever you get it from get everything you order and the price in a email confirmation

Bought from Valley Creek..Crazy fast shipping. Plus got a few goodies with my Alpha. I live in middle of nowhere and had it in couple of days. Amazon can't ship that fast.

Joe you go to your local store you pay sales tax. On line out of state NO TAX and most dealers charge no shipping.

You will pay less for the same unit from a smaller out-of-state vendor because you won't pay any sales tax. And you'll get way better customer service and after the sale support dealing with someone like Bruce Conkey's. And you'll be supporting someone that supports the sport. Just cruise around this site a little and see how much free advice and tech support he doles out just because it's the right thing to do. I'm sure Valley Creek or the other vendors out there are much the same.

When you consider those things, it seems like the choice of where to shop is pretty obvious.

Clinch mtn

Do not buy from them they will take your money and never send you the product. Look up on reviews will show you what I'm talking about. They are some crooks.
