GR NT CH Crooked River Red Turkey HTX

Anyone with a nice female should take a look at Turkey. He is reproducing early starting, big hunting, get treed with a coon, independent coon dogs. I co own a 23 month old male that is proving to be an excellent hound. I don't normally comment on my dogs but this young dog deserves it. No nonsense, no junk, go hunting, get struck and get treed with the coon. If that's what your looking for then Turkey is your stud.

Turkey

The Turkey thread is full of examples of the kind of pups this stud is producing. They are smart and easy to work with and 2017 will be the year they start showing up.

The fact that he is owned by a hard to please, no BS kind of coonhunter seals the deal.

Mine has been a late starter by those standards

Mine is 14 months. Up until about 2 weeks ago, I was pretty disgusted. She would run a track, but just didn't seem like she wanted to end it. About 2 weeks ago, though knowing better, I cut her on one in a grader ditch. Took her a little bit to straighten it out, but she ran it about 50 yards to a tree and treed like she had been doing it all her life. She hasn't looked back. Getting better every night.

My pup was kinda the same. a really strong track dog when we got him in the spring but lacked a little on the tree. Since I've started hunting him alone the last couple weeks something clicked and hes been treeing coon after coon every drop. No Junk and all business. Travis is definitely a great guy to deal with and although I've never met him personally I can tell he is extremely dedicated to his hounds.

I have the Emma female. She is a littermate to Travis' Ruby. She just hit a bump in the road and didn't progress for a while. She is clicking now.

Not sure of the temp last night in southern Iowas low 20's anyway. 2 year old out of Turkey didn't have any trouble putting up some on the outside by himself.

The female Matt's dog is out of was Zoe. She was off Rocky. I thought it was interesting that Zoe (Bandit's mom) and Abby (Brown's Mom) are off Brothers Rocky and Griz.

Tims Emma dog is off of Jim Kumberg's Gr.Nt Amber female. I'm pretty sure she's Fireball/Hoffmeister bred.

Thanks for the comments on your Turkey pups guys. They don't all make it but a high percentage of his pups have been easy/enjoyable to hunt. I've been fortunate to have quality females brought to Turkey so they deserve equal credit.
There are several nice young dogs off of these crosses hitting the hunts this summer. I look forward to seeing them.
