Earl Turpin

As a young man I visited with Mr.Turpin and hunted with the dogs that he had at the time. They were coon dogs, one was a nt ch, I think Duke, can't positively remember their names, I do have it wrote down some where. I never called him or even talked to him, I just stopped by and ask if he would take me out with his dogs, well when it got dark we went hunting, hunted on his farm. he didn't have to take me or even talk to me , seemed like a rel nice guy. I often wished I would have went back and hunted more. I know he had a show dog that a lot of people bred to.

This is a Turpin bred dog I owned that was born in 1980. He was a chop mouth dog but still no problem to tell when he treed and a very classy tree dog. Just an average hunting dog.

Turpins Hot Shot Red

in 1977, won first place show ch at autumn oaks. he was a beautiful redbone! we showed for 3 ch places at that time. all breeds and both sexes. this was a BIG win as he was the first redbone to do so. and was really beautiful redbone. mr turpin was known for redbones that could both hunt and show.
