Never used one. Pros and cons. What is a good brand to get. I hunt thick briars where it is hot for 10 months of the year. Thanks

First time I used one was probably 6 to 7 yrs ago,,and I won't go to the woods without one on since then,,I love it,,I have the mesh fabric type one,,keeps you cool on hot days,,and in winter,you can put something warm on either over or under it,,I can't remember the name of it,,but I bought it from Blazer back then,,when their regular supplier quit making the vest for them,and they had Dans make it for me and sent it to me,,not sure what Dans is making now,but I know they do sell vest,, Bruce Conkey sells a real nice one mostly wire mesh fabric,,he also sells the Dans vest to,,but I think they are pretty much all fabric,the ones I've wore that are all fabric do get warm

Mines mesh like a hard plastic type stuff. Got it from valley creek. Its fairly warm though. I been thinking about just getting me a garmin holder for my belt. Thats all I need. I can wear squaller and carry bullets in pocket. Now if I was still using a belt light. Id have to have the vest.

I HAVE A DANS VEST. OLD BELT LIGHT I USED KEEPS HANGING DOWN. THE VEST I HAD THE BELT WOULD SLOWLY KEEP DROPPING DOWN AS YOU WALK. I FELT BUCKLES WOULD HAVE HELD IT IN PLACE BETTER. THE VEST HAD PLENTY OF POCKETS FOR STUFF. MY VEST WAS NOT MESH AND WHEN IT WAS WARM I SWEATED AN AWFUL LOT. GOODLUCK.

HuntSmart.com has one on their current catalog. With all those dodads pocking out, they will get hung up too much here. I wear an army surplus jacket/shirt. It has nice pockets that hold all my stuff. It's hot so I sweat. I would wear a heavy long sleeved shirt anyway to protect me from thorns and briars, etcs.
