First Squirrel dog (Feist)

The first Feist I've ever raised/trained will be a year old next week, and I got her when she was 8 weeks old. She's my best friend and the best dog I've ever had. She treed her first squirrel today, timbered it good but didn't bark treed a whole lot. I've had coon dogs for the past 10 years and so that's what I'm used to starting/training. With Darla, I haven't really formally "started" her. Sometimes I take her hunting at night when I coon hunt and she hunts out good and checks trees. Ive taken her on walks through the woods during the day several times, but today was the first time she's treed a squirrel, and she was super intent on it. I feel like now is the time to really start her. Any tips or pointers on how to go about it? Thanks!!

Keep her in the squirrel woods as much as possible, tie her at every tree for a while, and absolutely don't shoot any game out until she has barked treed on the tree.
