Well, this year I've got something worth pushing in the hunts! I want to thank Joe Allen for selling Sambo to me when he was 8months old! Sambo was really easy to train. Each night he showed progress! And I believe I can safely say last October I finished him out to being a flat out coondog! Ive put him in 3 hunts since October 2014. The first hunt he did really good, but handler (me) wasn't the greatest and lost the cast. 2nd hunt he won in Wister, Oklahoma with 575+. 3rd hunt he lost because of handler error and a possum. Lol. The only coon scored that night he was 2nd strike 1st tree.

Sambo is 19 months old, and ready to make his journey in the competition world. He's a get gone (not a straight line) get by himself, stay put treedog! He's a little tight on the track with an extremely loud bawl squall freight train mouth and a very loud chop mouth on the tree! He's not mean at all, but he will not be pushed around by them alligator dogs either.

I look forward to posting his progress on here as we work our way through the hunts.

Couldn't stand it, had to go last night. So I loaded Sambo and my pup and headed to Cambell Hollar on Walker Mountain. Treed 2 in couple hours. Both were good running tracks. Here's a short video of Sambo treeing.

It got down to about 7 degrees last night. Too cold for me! Me and Sambo will enter up Saturday night in our local AKC hunt. Hope it'll warm up some! This ol southern boy don't like the single digit temperatures! God bless everyone!

Finished treating Sambo for erlichia a couple days ago. Man he sure looked like his old self last night. Me and my buddy Lonnie loaded up the hounds and headed to the mountains. First track he drove a big boar coon deep on the side of mountain. He treed about an HR before I could get to him. Before we got to him my pup and Lonnie's English dog got treed heading back to the road (big boar coon). Then Sambo took another track on the side of another mountain by himself and had another big boar. And the last tree, on the side of the first mountain he was treed on, i couldnt find the coon (grove of pines), Good night of mountain hunting! My pup did a lot better too.

Sambo seems to be doing good on the doxy! I took him to a ukc hunt last Friday night in Monroe, Oklahoma. He had split 1st strike and a 1st on the only coon scored. Had the cast won till I made a bonehead call with about 15 minutes left in the hunt. Oh well, we had a good time anyway. We'll give it another shot at stiglertown in a couple weeks at the BBOA zone 7 championship hunt. God bless everyone!

We took almost a year off from comp hunting. Ive been hunting sambo by himself and another young dog. He looks solid. Think I'll put him in our local hunt next weekend. God bless!

Our next local hunt will be in February over at monroe again. We've got an RQE here at our club March 5th. Should be able to take care of business and get that cast win. Starting to give him a lot of alone time. Treeing a lot of rutting boars. And a lot of dens! Good luck team blue!!!

Didn't get to go to Monroe, but I'll take Sambo to Stigler town this weekend. See if I can't finish him out to nitech. Just need a plus point cast win. But you can't tell about this ol hillbilly, I might just go hunting down here. I got permission on some really good bottom land that hadnt had a hound on it in 30 years. Ought to be fun either way!

Got his 1st win toward grand tonight. Slipped off by himself and Treed a single. 200+. He's on a roll. Won 3 out of the last four cast. Tomorrow night is our RQE. Hoping for a good night!
