CH GRNT Stylish Thorn HTX was laid to rest today.

Thorn was a steady companion of mine for almost 13 years. He came to Oak Ridge Kennels as a young dog who caught my eye at just over a year old. He was one of the first HTX titled dogs in UKC, was also an AKC Supreme Grand Night Champion, and a PKC Champion. He won casts in 10 different states, and over his life was an 80% cast winner.

He was always available to help us make an episode of Tailgate Adventures, and it was always frustrating to show on TV just how easy he made treeing coon look.

I will forever regret the fact that I never even tried to win a world hunt with him. It just wasn't on my bucket list....but I know I hunted against and frequently beat several wold champions with him. He hunted in local hunts, pro hunts, national championships, state hunts, RQEs and slam hunts. Never once did I put him in the dog box ashamed of the effort he put forth.

I doubt I will ever snap a lead to another of his quality.....RIP buddy...

Thorn was a Dandy, seen him put on a Coon treeing show many times. It's sad, but they get old Fast, and then they are gone. I know you had fun with him Joe. Sorry for your loss.
