DC 40 problem!

Not sure if it's my 220 hand held or the DC 40 collar?
Twice in the last month my hand held Will give a guestion mark for the status of dog, but when I walk too where it says dogs is it will correct it self and dog will be in another direction?? Hand held is year old, but DC 40 is a few years old. Any ideas??
Thanks for reading!

Merry Christmas!!

No link

I would delete the dc40 from the astro, then replace the antenna and relink the collar to the handheld.
Sounds like an antenna issue...either loose screw or antenna has broken wire.
Good luck

.

I would say there is a good chance the small wire in your antenna has rusted in two and is making intermittent contact.
Or the same could be happening with the GPS antenna.

To trouble shoot you need to see if other collars working on it correctly and just one collar messing up. It could be the connection top your handheld also.

If you have more than one DC 40 you could change the antennas to see how that works.

at what distance is this happening ? if 220 has a question mark. you must get back within range (line of sight) of collar many times the dog has moved in different direction then where signal is lost when a question mark appears go to higher ground as this improves line of sight if collar is dropping out at 300 yards or less its a antenna problem
