Lost my Daisymae today
She would have been 15 in May. I couldn't stand to see her in such bad condition any longer and since there was no hope of improvement I put her to sleep today.
I lost another dog just 2 years ago and learned from that experience what I was facing. So, with great dread I watched her get old and older and then in mid nov. she started having seizures. We got her leveled out from that but it was down hill from there. Then she become harder and harder to feed. Then I had to feed her with a shringe but she couldn't keep anything down and wasn't pooping right either. Before her seizure she was fast walking by the truck half a mile every time I went hunting.
Daisymae was my second dog as an adult. She was a Denmark feist bred by a guy named mark slade. At one time the Denmark feist was a popular line of dogs. I had high hopes in her. But she wasn't a very good hunter. She quickly became my constant companion and stayed that way until the bitter end. Now it's time to move on without her but her memory will be with me until my end.
