Public Hunting

They are usually overcrowded in season anymore. Because the private ground is getting harder, and harder to get permission from. Due to all the deer hunting leases.

Public Hunting

Chad is right,if you dont get there early you wont find a spot the places I hunt, and then people will turn dogs in on top of you.Your better off to stay away from public hunting areas for about the first two weeks of coon season. After that the seasonal hunters about quit, and you dont have much problems.

A three day tourist permit is not valid for Deer, turkey or furbearers. At least that's how the regulations read..

Again the regulations read, (Non-resident 3-day tourist license not valid for deer, turkey or furbearer). You have been very lucky not to have been caught . It does not say anywhere in the regulations that buying a furtaker permit makes those licenses legal. Go to ODNR website. You can buy a furtaker permit but you can't hunt them without the seasonal license.

Huh, mine reads the exact same way. It also doesn't say it will be legal with the purchase of a furtaker permit.

I buy my yearly licenses because i live just accross the river. i just wasnt sure how public land was to hunt on. seems like when deer season nears the private land people go nuts

i live in central ohio. it is getting very hard to find a place to hunt. i have lost 7-8 farms in the last 5 years. the only "public" land around me is Perry county st.forest and they have timbered it all out and destoyed it. Won't be long and you won't even be able to hunt anywhere around here. If you have a handful of good private spots to hunt, you better cherish and respect them all you can.
