She may think it is Coyotes howling or barking at her and if she has ever had a bad run in with them i would say she gets scared and is peeling out when she hears them.

I had one that didn't like them. He didn't leave the tree, but he sure didn't like it when we were hunting and they got yelling back and forth. I got an owl hooter like you use for locating turkeys and hooted on it while I was around him. He seems to have gotten over it.
You gotta wonder what happened to cause the dog to react like that over the noise an owl makes...I thought one swooped down at him one night and scared him or because they were yelling back and forth to each other he might have thought they were like coyotes.

I don't care who you are...that's funny right there!!!!! You can always tell a real hillbilly...what burnt motor oil wont cure a bullet will.
I would try blowing the owl hooter one night when this dog isn't paying attention but is close enough to see it's reaction...if the dog crouches suddenly I would bet he's been dive bombed by one.

Seriously, all BS aside...I would bet a gallon a Lenharts best shine that you will have a better chance of getting a coon to look with an owl hooter than any squaller made today!!!! Owls are the raccoons number one enemy. They kill more baby raccoons when they first start to leave the den than any other predator...why wouldn't a treed one look????
