ukc judging seminar

Why doesnt the ukc require a person to attend a judging class or seminar before toting a scorecard. Wouldnt that help with alot of the questions we see asked here on a daily basis.put a small fee on enrollment to cover travel cost. They may not be able t cover all situations that arise while in the woods but they could be sure that whoever carries the card has a basic knowledge of the rules concerning scoring and misbehavior.
Then Upon completion issue a judge identification number. Abuse the authority given and your number is withdrawn and you have to take class again. Just a thought

My big question to that would be "what do you do when the MOH asks for a show of hands? "who's a certified judge?"and two guys raise they're hands and meanwhile there's three registered casts and two NiteCh casts?

A lot of qualified judges would rather not judge a cast in the first place. They get hammered at every event that they attend to judge. If you try to force them to take a special class to judge, that simply gives them an easy out if they choose not to get certified.

It would probly be better to just go over situations that came up in casts in club meetings discussed as a club so everybody is on the same page as far as makin decisions. if somebody has a question look it up go to the advisor. bring coffee and chili for everybody.
