Shade River Coon Hunters Club will be holding Hunt Tests on Wed July 1st,, Wed July 15th, and Sat July 18th. Trophies will be awarded to all dogs that earn a pass and/or finish their HTX Certification. Deadline to enter will be at 9:00 PM and entry fee will be $10.00.

We had 2 entries in our July 1st Hunt Test with both dogs passing. Our July 15th Hunt Test had four entries with 2 dogs passing. We have a Hunt Test this Saturday and hoping to put several dogs in the woods. Come on out to it and see how enjoyable these hunt tests can be.

That's really nice of you to give trophies at a hunt test. I've never heard of anybody doing that, there can't be anything in it for the club except the satisfaction of doing it.

Thanks RLenhart. I don't know why these hunt tests aren't more popular. I enjoy them. Laid back but the dog has to do the work.

Four dogs entered and three passed. Hot and muggy but a good night to hunt overall. Thanks to everyone who came and entered and especially to the guys who came and gave up their time to inspect the dogs. Without them it can't happen.

Hunts Tests scheduled for September. First one this Saturday the 12th, then Friday the 18th, and Saturday the 26th. Deadline to enter hunts is 8:30 and Entry Fee is $10. Trophies will be given to any dog earning a pass and/or finishing to HTX.

Hunted 4 dogs Saturday night with 3 passes. It was a good night to be in the woods. Next HTX hunt is this Friday.
