A good hunt with Lonnie Smiley

Jim Smalling, Dennis Elbrador, and myself visited Lonnie & Tim Smiley for a short hunt. We spent the day with Lonnie and went for a short hunt and treed 2 singles.

Good picture

Ok, I am going to show my ignorance here. I am new to blueticks. Wha are these gents? Are they breed icons? As in Smileys Rambo II?
Serious question.

Great bluetick men

Icons if you would like to put it that way. The first guy on the left I don't think I have ever met, so I presume that's Mr. Tim Smiley. the second guy from the left is Mr. Phil Davis. Mr. Davis owns the White River kennels in Arkansas, and has owned such hounds as White River Bogie and goodson's Rowdy Bocephus and many more top hounds. The third guy from the left is non other than Mr. Lonnie Smiley. Mr. Smiley has owned many top hounds, Probably the better known ones is The Rambo dogs such as Rambo 11, 111 and 1V. The 4th guy from the left is Mr. Jim Smalling. Mr. Smalling owned the Clear River kennels in Oklahoma. Mr. Smalling has also owned many top hounds, such as Clear River Diamond Jim and Jim 11 and Clear River Curley that was a litter mate sister to Smokey River Tramp. the guy on the far right is Mr. Dennis Elbrader. Mr. Elbrader owns the Natural Smokey River Kennels in Kansas. He owned such hounds as Smokey River Cheif's Joe, Natural Smokey river Rebel, Natural Smokey River Flo and Many more top hounds. All of these guys are Bluetick Legends.

Thanks Mr Jack for educating a poor ignorant soul. All the years I have hunted, I have always liked to know the history. Thanks again.

Yes thanks for the picture! It has been a lone time between sighting of those two fella's. I started compation hunting the year Jim was running the purina race with Curley. I met him at Clay City IN. and he talked to me like old friend and old Lonnie never seen him at a hunt that he didn't tell a new joke! Nice seeing you all in the picture!
