Regarding The Autumn Oaks Draw......

OK...so the draw is complete. Some pretty interesting match ups. Corey and Allen and I were discussing UKC's policy of keeping the draw confidential until draw out time before the hunt. Is that policy still in the best interest of the integrity of the hunt? It sure would create a lot of excitement if everyone knew who drew who today....especially in Grands.

So what's your opinion? What are the pro's and con's of keeping it a secret?

That'd be awesome! No one gets any advantages or disadvantages by knowing who they draw

In my opinion the draw is completed so why not go ahead and tell us! It's not going to change anything. Would be nice to know!

I think it would be great to know who draws who, especially for those who aren't able to attend Autumn Oaks.

It would save some time at drawout which can sometimes drag on for awhile. And it might help to know where we drew out in order to know where to get a motel. But I might not show up if I knew who I drew.

I think it makes more sense for Grands seeing as how that is basically an elimination hunt now anyway. You're not worried about 2 or 3 people having two weeks to get their resources together and attempt to create an advantage? I'm not sure what that could be honestly. That's why I'm asking what do you think would be a con in this situation? You have to realize that some things will change because of no shows and replacing dogs with wait list dogs, combining two dog casts, etc. Even where a cast is being guided is subject to change right up until the last minute. This would just be the initial draw.

I told Allen if we do this someone will probably be running book in Vegas! Hate to hear about Richard Lambert getting his knee caps busted.

More than likely everyone already has their resources worked out by now. Plus like you said it's all still sublet to change some.

Possible Con

Not sure if this is a con or not. Someone that lives greater than 6+ hours away draws a guide they don't believe can put them in enough coon to win the hunt they might not make the trip. Its more so for Opens and Nt casts but could happen with Grands also.

If you release this don't think people wont be making calls inquiring about there guide and coons.

Good point ! I have no intention of posting who the guide is. But that will be easy for those casts to figure out if they start calling each other. But in Grands, again, I don't think it matters that much. So I agree with you, that could be an issue in Nites and Regs.
