Dog Jockeys???

Who or what do you consider a dog Jockey?

My problem is you go to the advertised stud dog pages and see and read about all the stud dogs that are out there which is great I love reading about all of them but then you go to the puppy for sale promotion page and half the guys that are advertising a stud dog have another pup or dog for sell that has nothing to do with their stud dog seems just about ever week or so a different dog or pup for sell but a lot of time not out of their advertised stud dog.
This makes me think twice about booking a up from their stud dog.
What are some of your opinions maybe I am just too suspicious been burnt to many times.lol

Just because a person has a stud dog it shouldn't limit them to only having pups out of that dog.

This is just my opinion but speaking for myself I am fairly picky. I want a dog that operates a certain way if I'm going to spend the time and money hauling them up and down the road. I don't own or have ever owned a stud dog but I imagine that this is the reason they roll a few pups down the road looking for that special one. That being said I never sell junk but the only way I know to get what I'm looking for is by a pup out of a cross I think will work get it started and see if it suits if it doesn't suit me but has potential I will sell it. I would imagine a stud owner that has pups for sale not out of their stock are looking for a special one to cross back on gyps out of their stock. Not to say they are all doing that but I imagine some are at least. Just because a dog doesn't suit one man doesn't mean it want make a helluva coondog and suit the next man. That is just my opinion and I am sure there are some that are just dog jockeys.

dog jockey = someone who moves dogs to make a buck

my outlook on dog jockeys changed when I got the best dog I ever snapped a lead too off one

no one is pointing a gun to your head making you buy a dog off a jockey...this is " MARICA "

I got a stud dog and will show him or his pups Amy time someone wants to see them go I do sell a dog from time to time if I come across one I will buy it if it's the right kind this site is here to be used if you can't go hunt with the dog don't buy if u do,that's your fault have sold several good dogs on here including two stud dogs that are being advertised on here they are both nice dogs and I didn't sell them for a fortune I'm sure neither one could be bought for twice what I sold them for as far as pups go most I have made same crosses several times with exceptional good results they all have ended up in the hands of coon hunters. I have sold several nice young dogs out of my dog to pleasure hunters for good prices but I put a lot of time and money in training them and like I said before pleasure hunters will pay twice more money for a good young dog than comp hunters I never have to advertise any of my nice young dogs for sale out of my dog always someone looking for a nice dog ready to go and most of the time it's someone that's been hunting with me anyway

In the guitar world we refer to this as GAS....or guitar acquisition syndrome.

I guess here it could be call CAS. Coondog Acquisition Syndrome.

Seems to me there are 2 different schools of thought, one is to try to hunt one dog or 2 and get what you want by lots of woods time and hunting, or to acquire dogs and sell dogs, hoping to find a gem.

I dont know what the stud dog owners do cause ive never had one i liked good
enough to breed but if i was a stud dog owner i guess id be going through alot of females looking for something that fit my breeding program. the ones that didnt would be for sale. ive sold a few dogs off this site and have never lied about what they were about. im hard to please and very picky when it comes to a dog and dogs ive had others thought were coon dogs i thought were mutts!!! Ive never had a dog that didnt have a price. I dont fall in love with none of them. I like to start pups and hunt them till i see if i can win with them. if i feel like their missing something which they always are they go to somebody else. Dog jockeys are guys that trade dogs for dogs i trade mine forcash!!!! Call it what you want but why would i keep a dog that dont suit me when maybe theirs somebody out their that it would?
