Looking for information about the pairs class at Autumn Oaks, specifically:

1- What time will the pairs be judged? The schedule says Thursday, but I see entry times of 10am-1pm but I can't find where it says what time that show will be. Does that just mean that it will be held after the 1pm deadline?

2- Can someone point me to a standard/basis for judging a pairs class. Never entered in it before and would like to see what they are looking for before deciding to do so.

1 - Entries close at 1:00 p.m. Immediately following the close of entries will be the Conformation Format show. The Dual Champions class will follow Conformation Format. The Pairs class will follow Dual Champions. Hard to say a time as that is dependent on the number of entries.

2 - The only requirement in a Pairs entry is that they be a male and a female of the same breed. They may be related or not related. May be owned by the same owner or different owners. Being a non-licensed and non-typical class there is no formal judging standard. In my opinion it is judged based on the individual quality of the two dogs and additionally, how close they compare in color and type.

Iv heard they need to look alike but iv seen in bloodlines where the winners look nothing alike. Almost as if completely opposite.

It should be based upon how each pair compliments each other & how each dog meets standards. I've seen both ways but I myself as a judge base my decision on how they would compliment each other as a breeding pair. Identical doesn't always mean better
